Question 43704: I am looking at examples in my book for this equation, but since the (x) is on the top instead of the bottom, I am confussed. here is the equation:
x/16 = 18/8
I think the LCD would be 8, considering 8 goes into both denominators.
(8)(x/16) = (8) (18/8)
x/2 = 18/1
Where am I going from here? Answer by jake_6233(74) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! x/16 = 18/8
The easiest way way to go about this is to remember that if a/b=c/d then ad=bc
8x=288 x=36 The other thing to notice is 16= 2*8
I hope that helps
