 4^2 = x(x+6)

    x^2 + 6x - 16 = 0

 factoring

  (x+8)(x-2) = 0

  (x+8) = 0  x = -8  |Toss out. Cannot use negative x in log4 x

  (x-2) = 0  x = 2
