You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Assume logarithm to base 10 and rewrite the equation.
log%2810%2C+8x-1%29=log%2810%2C+100%29, since the logarithms are equal we have;
8x-1=100
8x=101
x=101%2F8.
Done.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

The Relationship—
logb%28y%29+=+x...is equivalent to (means the exact same thing as) ... y+=+b%5Ex
log%288x-1%29=2........I assume b=10
8x-1+=+10%5E2
8x-1+=+100
8x+=+101
x+=+101%2F8
x+=12.625
check:
log%288x-1%29=2
log%288%2A12.625-1%29=2
log%28100%29=2
2=2
