 y+=+%28kx%29 k being  the constant of proportionality.

If w varies directly as z and w = 9 when z = -6, find w when z = 3

   w = kz

   9 = k*-6

   -3/2 = k

  w = (-3/2)x

  w = (-3/2)*3 = -9/2 when z = 3
