Question 436188: What is the area of the largest square that can be cut out of a circular paper with a circumference of 20π cm Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 2*pi*r= 20*pi
r=10
the diagonal of the square will be twice the radius.
diagonal = 20
The diagonal is the hypotenuse of traiangle with the legs as the sides of the square
20^2=2x^2
400=2x^2
200=x^2
x= sqrt(200)
Area will be sqrt(200)*sqrt(200)
= 200 sq. cm
