A square had a side lenght of 5k and an equilateral triangle has a side lenght of 2k+1. If the both have the same perimeter, what is the perimeter of the triangle? Answer by jorel1380(3719) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! If a square has a side length of 5k, then its perimeter is 4(5k)or 20k. An equilateral triangle has the same length on all sides; thus its perimeter is 3(2k+1)=6k+3.
------------------
20k=6k+3
14k=3
k=3/14.
