You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2+-+sqrt%28x%2B1%29+=+sqrt%28x%2B3%29
Squaring both sides gives:
4+-+4%2Asqrt%28x%2B1%29+%2B+%28x%2B1%29+=+x+%2B+3
Collect terms:
2+=+4%2Asqrt%28x%2B1%29 -> 1%2F2+=+sqrt%28x%2B1%29
Square both sides:
1%2F4+=+x+%2B+1
This gives x = -3/4
Check:
2+-+sqrt%281%2F4%29+=+sqrt%289%2F4%29
1.5 = 1.5
