9x - 7y = 41 ________(1)
x - 5y = 13 ________(2)

First multiply both sides of equation (2) by 9. You get
9%28x+-+5y%29+=+9%2A13
or 9x+-+45y+=+117
Now, subtract both sides of equation (1) from the respective sides of this equation. You get
%289x+-+45y%29+-+%289x+-+7y%29+=+117+-+41
or 9x+-+45y+-+9x+%2B+7y+=+76
or -+38y+=+76
or -+38y%2F38+=+76%2F38
or -+y+=+2
or y+=+-2

Put this value of 'y' in (2). You get
x+-+5%28-2%29+=+13
or x+%2B+10+=+13
or x+=+13+-+10+=+3

Hence, the reqd. solution is x = 3, y = -2.
