Let x represent time it would take them to paint it together
Question states*** Per hour the Equalizer
1/4 + 1/6 = 1/x |Multiplying thru by 12x so as all denominators = 1
3x + 2x = 12
5x = 12
x = 12/5 or 2.4 hrs

1/4 + 1/6 = 3/12 + 2/12 = 1/(12/5) = 5/12
