Let x represent it takes using the hose alone

Question states*** Per hour the Equalizer

 1%2F12+%2B+1%2Fx+=+1%2F%2860%2F7%29

 1%2F12+%2B+1%2Fx+=+7%2F60  |Multiplying thru by 60x so as all denominators = 1

  5x + 60 = 7x

     60 = 2x

    x = 30hrs, time it takes using the hose alone
