Solution: Let x the unknown number.Question states:%281%2F2%29x=%281%2F3%29x%2B25
Solve this equation:Multiply both sides by 6, 3x=2x%2B150=>3x-2x=150 =>x=150.
Check:1/2*150=1/3*150+25 => 75=50+25 => 75=75
Answer:The unknown number is 150.

Let x represent the number

Question states***

  (1/2)n = (1/3)n + 25  |Multipying thru by 6 so as all denominators = 1

     3n = 2n + 150

      n = 150



CHECKING our Answer***

  75 = 50 + 25
