(2)cube it
(3) raise it to the 4th power
The respective roots 2nd, 3rd, and 4th are the original number,
symbol, etc.
Start out with the negative of your original
How does the square, cube, forth power compare with the positive?
This is a good way to see roots as the opposite of raising to a power
