Question 43058: Could someone help me solve this problem? I have submitted it 3 times and I guess no has seen it yet.
In North America the populaton for the yr. 2000 was 305,000,00 & in Asia it was 4,028,000,000. The land area (1,000 sq. mi) is North America is 9,400 and in Asia it's 17,400
The question is: I need to compare the population per square mile in Asia to the population per square mile in North America for the year 2000.
  Thanks,
   Sher

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Population density = (Total number of people)/(Total land area)

In the year 2000:

In Asia, Population density = = 231.4942 per sq. miles.

In North America, Population density = = 3.2447 per sq. miles.

Now, you can easily compare.
The population density in North America was very sparse in comparison to that in Asia in 2000 A.D.
