Question 430378: 4 problems total. Just says solve the equation. It has been 20 years since I've done this stuff, I am so confused!!
x+2/x-5 = x-2/x-7
1+ 1/y = 30/y (2nd power)
1/z+7 + 4/z+5 = -2/z(2nd power) +12z+35
6/5x - 1/x+1 = 3/2x(2nd power)+2x

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x+2/x-5 = x-2/x-7
---
Cross-multiply:
(x+2)(x-7) = (x-5)(x-2)
----
FOIL on each side:
x^2-7x+2x-14 = x^2-2x-5x+10
-----
Combine like terms:
x^2-9x-14 = x^2-7x+10
---
Balance:
-2x = 24
Divide:
x = -12
======================
1+ 1/y = 30/y^2 (2nd power)
---
Multiply thru by y^2 to get:
y^2 + y = 30
---
Rearrange:
y^2+y-30 = 0
Factor:
(y+6)(y-5) = 0
---
Solve:
y = -6 or y = 5
====================
Try the rest using similar methods.

Stan H.
