Question 430356: Can someone confirm if I am doing this problem right? I have to provide the answer in fraction in lowest terms.
Question: 2/(x-1) - 4/(x-1)

My solution = 2(x-1)/(x-1)(x+1)- 4(x+1)/(x-1)(x+1)
= -2x-6/(x+1)(x-1)
Thanks

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Your solution is not the solution
for the problem you posted.
What is the problem?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2/(x-1) - 4/(x-1)
= -2/(x-1) = 2/(1-x)
--------------------
My solution = 2(x-1)/(x-1)(x+1)- 4(x+1)/(x-1)(x+1)
------------
= -2x-6/(x+1)(x-1)
There's no x+1 in the problem.
