Multiply through both by 10 to get rid of the decimals.
1st: 4x - 2y = 6
2nd: 25x - 3y = 47
Multiply the 1st by 3 and the 2nd by 2 to get:
1st: 12x - 6y = 18
2nd: 50x -6y = 94
Subtract the 1st from the 2nd to get:
38x =76
x=2
Substitute to solve for "y", as follows:
12(2) -6y = 18
-6y=-6
y=1
