A triangle has one side length 1 1/3 cm. and another side length 2 1/5 cm. the perimeter of the triangle is 7 1/30 cm. What is the length of the 3rd side.

Let x represent the length of the 3rd side.

Question states*** Converting info given to improper fractions

 4/3cm + 11/5 cm + x = 211/30 cm  |Multiplying each term by 30 

 40 + 66 + 30x = 211

          30x = 105

            x = 3.5cm Or 3 1/2 cm



CHECKING our Answer***

  4/3 + 11/5 + 7/2 = (40 + 66 + 105)/30 = 211/30
