Question 429008: Hello, can anyone assist me with these two questions on series and sequences? I am very frustrated:

1) Is 207 a member of the sequence 3,7,11,...?

2) Find the first term of the sequence -7,-5,-3,... which is greater than 400.

Thank you very much!

You can put this solution on YOUR website! 1. If the sequence is arithmetic, then we can say that it includes the positive integers congruent to 3 modulo 4. Since 207 is equivalent to 3 modulo 4, then 207 is in the sequence.

2. This sequence contains all of the (sufficiently large) odd numbers, so 401 is the first term that satisfies.
