This is pretty simple, add 8 to both sides
7x^2 = -1 + 8
7x^2 = 7
divide both sides by 7
x^2 = 1
Find the square root of both sides
x = sqrt%281%29
x = 1
Could also be
x = -1 since (-1)^2 also = 1
