Absolute Value is the distance a number is from zero.

|5| = 5, because 5 is 5 away from 0

|-2| = 2, because -2 is 2 away from 0

|-3/4| = 3/4, because -3/4 is 3/4 away from 0

|0| = 0, because 0 is 0 away from 0

If |x| = 3, then x could be 3 or -3.
