heights of men on a baseball team have a bell-shaped distribution with a mean of 180 cm and a standard deviation of 8 cm. Using the empirical rule, what is the approximate percentage of the men between the following values? 156 cm and 204 cm
---
z(156) = (156-180)/8 = -3
-3---
z(204) = (204-180)/8 = 3
----
P(156 < x < 204) = P(-3< z < 3) = normalcdf(-3,3) = 0.9973

Since using the empirical rule, wouldn't the percentage be 99.7% since the standard deviation is 3?
