Note FOIL method: basically a question of combining 4 independent multiplications
(t+1)(t+4)= t^2 + 5t + 4
F First terms t*t OR t^2
O Outside terms highlight%284%2At%29
I Inside terms highlight%281%2At%29
L Last terms 1*4 OR 4
t^2 + 5t + 4 combining like terms
