Question 427204: This may seem like a crazy question, but every book I have consulted gives a vague answer, I am a teacher and this these questions are not in my area of expertise, I have asked several other people for suggestions including math teachers and everyone is stumped. I would like to be able to explain this to my students clearly:
When solvinga problem of distance involving 2 vehicles, where is the beginning and ending point to measure on the vechile in order to figure out how many miles they went? DO you start to measure at the back end of the vehicle and end at the beginning of it? Do you measure them front to front or what? Thank you so much for your help.....Inquiring minds want to know.
This can be printed if you want. "T" Found 2 solutions by shree840, richard1234:Answer by shree840(260) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! I believe that when you are talking about miles you ignore the length of the vehicles. If two vehicles are approaching each other, you combine their speed and if total distance is given, you can find the distance or the time from the start. I might be able to help more if I have a specific problem
