: I can't figure this one out.
A bathtub faucet will fill a tub in 4 minutes. The drain can drain the tub in 6 minutes. If the drain is left open and the faucet turned on, how long will it be before the tub overflows?
I tried, X/4 + x/6= 1, 6x/24 + 4/24 =1 Devided by 24. 24x/24x =1 x=1
one hour? does this sound right? I appreciate anyone's help, thank you in advance. Best Regards, Heidi
