A z-score tells you the number of standard deviations
a data value is from the mean of the data values.
It also tells you if the data value is below and above
the mean value.

Let's say you want to know the z-value of 20.
Distance from mean = (20-60- = -40,
so 20 is 40 away from the mean and is below it.
----
Express that distance in standard deviations.
-40/7 = -5.7143
So 20 is 5.7143 standard deviations away from
the mean and it is below (or to the left of)
the mean.
