Question 425683: Hi, My name is Jakarria. I'm not to good on word problems and I need help solving this question please.
**If Sally can paint a house in 4 hours, and John can paint the same house in 6 hour, how long will it take for both of them to paint the house together?
I tried taking 6 and dividing it by 4 and i tried subtracting it. I did't exactly come up with the exact answer but i just came up with an answer that had at least 2 hours and I got the question wrong.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let Sally take 1/4 hours
John= 1/6 hours
Total=1/x
1%2F4%2B1%2F6=1%2Fx
%284%2B6%29%2F24=1%2Fx
10%2F24=1%2Fx
x=24%2F10
x=2.4
It would take them 2.4 hours
