You can put this solution on YOUR website!

no. of ways to select 2 out of 9 = 9C2 = 36
no. of ways to select 2 republicans out of 4 = 4C2 = 6
probability = 6/36
= 1/6

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solution: The set of all outcomes is C9,2=9X8/2=36
The set of outcomes that the subcommittee to be republican is:
C4,2=4X5/2=10
Therefore the probability that the subcommittee to be republican is:
P=10%2F36=5%2F18
