Step 1: Solve for one of the variables in one of the equations.
Step 2: Substitute that quantity in place of that variable in the other equation.
Step 3: Solve the resulting equation for the second variable.
Step 4: Substitute the value of the second variable into the first equation.
Step 5: Find the value of the second variable.
Step 6: Substitute both values of the variables into both equations to check.
