You can put this solution on YOUR website!
There are seven less than twice the marbles in Tim's box as there are in
Andy's box. Charlie has six more marbles than Andy. How many marbles does Andy have if together the three of them have 95 marbles?
----
Equations:
t = 2a-7
c = a+6
t + a + c = 95
-----
Substitute for t and c and solve for "a":
(2a-7)+ a +(a+6) = 95
4a-1 = 95
4a = 96
a = 24 andy's marbles
t = 2a-7 tim's marbles
c = a+6 chris's marbles
