Question 422376: A company that manufactures bicycle frames has determined that the monthly profit (in dollars) from the sale of x frames is given by
P(x) = – 0.05x3 + 1.5x2 + 5x – 13000
Find the number of frames that must be sold per month for the profit to be zero. For what x-values will the profit be positive?
i have some problem with solving this problem.
could you help me in details?...:) Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! A company that manufactures bicycle frames has determined that the monthly profit (in dollars) from the sale of x frames is given by
P(x) = – 0.05x^3 + 1.5x^2 + 5x – 13000
----------------
Find the number of frames that must be sold per month for the profit to be zero.
Solve: – 0.05x^3 + 1.5x^2 + 5x – 13000 = 0
Ans: I graphed it and found no Real Number solutions.
----
For what x-values will the profit be positive?
Ans: none
