Question 420846: Hello I need help with arranging like terms. The method the linear system would have to be solved is elimination. The problem I have to solve is: 1. 2x - y = 32 2. y - 5x = 13. I changed y - 5x = 13 to -5x + y = -13 and I didn't find the solution. The false solution I got though was (x = -6.333 ( repeating)and y = -44.666 (repeating)) Please help me out by answering my question step-by-step. Thank You very much.

add both equations, y will cancel,
u will get -3x = 45
so, x = -15
now, u can easily find the value of y.

( The way u changed the equation in a completely wrong ..)
