The minute hand is a radius of a circle...the circumference C = 2(pi)r or
C = 2(22/7)(1.12) (I imagine 22/7 is better than 3.14 this time)
C = 7.04 m = 704 cm
Now the minute hand goes around once each hour, or once every 60 minutes...
Thus the tip covers 704 cm in 60 minutes or
11.73 cm/min
