Filling the tank is one job
One pipe fills in 4 hours
It does 1/ 4 of the job in 1 hours
other pipe 12 hours
It does 1/12 of thejob in 1 hours
third hose takes 3 hours
It does 1/3 of the job in 1 hour

Together they will do 1/4 + 1/12 + 1/3
Together they will do 2/ 3 of the job in one hour
So they will take 1 1/2 hours
So they will take 1.5 hours
