You can put this solution on YOUR website!
SOLUTION TO PART 1:
Distance to be traveled = 4 miles.
Speed of fire truck = 12 miles/hr.
Therefore, time taken by the fire truck to travel the distance = DISTANCE%2FSPEED = 4%2F12 = 1%2F3 hr. = 20 mins.

SOLUTION TO PART 2:
Speed of fire engine = 38 miles/hr.
Time of travel of the fire engine = 15 mins. = 1%2F4 hr.
Therefore, distance traveled by the fire engine in the given time = SPEEDxTIME = 38x1%2F4 = 19%2F2 = 9.5 miles.
