6x-6 > 4x-16
2x > -10
x > -5

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
6x - 6 > 2 (2x - 8)
6x - 6 > 4x -16 (distributing the "2" over the term on the right)
6x > 4x - 10 (adding 6 to both sides)
2x > -10 (subtracting 4x from both sides)
x > -5
Lets check the answer by just picking a value for x which is greater than -5, plugging it back into the original inequality and seeing if the simplified result is true. Let's pick x = 0 (which is greater than -5). Putting "0" into the original inequality, we get:
6(0) - 6 > 2 (2(0) - 8)
-6 > 2(-8)
-6 > -16
Since -6 is greater than -16, the solution checks out.
