Question 419222: solve by the elimination method.
4x+5y=2
8x+10y=4
a.the solution is?
b. there are infinitely many solutions
c. there is no solution
Answer by Mr. Math Wiz(7) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! -First you have to get rid of one varible and the easiest would be x
-To get rid of a variable there has to be a positve number, and then a negative number added together lik -8+8
4x+5y=2
8x+10y=4
-Multiple all of the numbers of the top equation by -2
-2(4x),-2(5y),-2(2)
-It equals -8x+-10y=-4
-After adding the equations together by using elimination it equals 0 so the answer is there is no solution
-The answer is C, hope this helped :)
