Question 418105: how do I find the probability of a problem using the multiplication rule? for example bought a set of four new tires from a manufacturer who just announced a recall because 2% of the tires are defective. What is the probablity of at least one of yours being defective?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
probability that a tire is defective = 2/100
probability that a tire is not defective = 98/100

probability that all 4 tires are non defective i.e P(A)= (98/100)^4

probability that at least one tire is defective = P'(A) = 1 - (98/100)^4
