Question states*** converting 16 2/3% to its decimal form 

16 2/3% = 50/3 % or 16.667%  and  16.667%/100 = .16667 of the class failed the class.

 .166667*x = 6

         x = 36, the number in the class.  30 students passed (36-6)



CHECKING our Answer***  .83333 passed class  (.16667+.83333) = 1 or 100%

  .83333*36 = 30
