The cube is 4%2A4%2A4+=+64 cm3
Each edge is 4 cm, and there are 6 surfaces (count 'em)
Each surface has area = 4%2A4+=+16 cm2
+6%2A16+=+96 cm2 answer

Since the volume is 64cm^3 the side of cube is a=cubic root of 64=4 cm.
The total surface area S=6a^2=6(4)^2=6(16)=96 cm^2.
