1. 13+-+4k+%3C+27
We need to isolate k by itself. First subtract 13 from both sides -> -4k+%3C+14. Now divide both sides by -4, remembering that negative sign reverses the inequality. So we have k+%3E+-14%2F4+=+-7%2F2.
For a quick check pick a number greater than -7/2, e.g. -3.
13 - 4(-3) = 13 + 12 = 25 < 27.
