Question 416407: Could you please help me make sure I am doing this correctly?
In 1995, the life expectancy of males in a certain country was 69.1 years. In 1999, it was 72.9 years. Let E represent the life expectancy in year t and let t represent the number of years since 1995.
E(t)=___t + ___
round to the nearest tenth
Use the function to predict the life expectancy of males in 2005.
E(10)= ___
round to the nearest tenth.
I think I am getting close, but want to be certain. Thanks!!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Could you please help me make sure I am doing this correctly?
In 1995, the life expectancy of males in a certain country was 69.1 years. In 1999, it was 72.9 years.
Let E represent the life expectancy in year t and let t represent the number of years since 1995.
---
Points: (0,69.1)(4,72.9)
slope = (72.9-69.1)/4 = 3.8/4 = 19/20
E(t)= (19/20)t + 69.1
=======
round to the nearest tenth
Use the function to predict the life expectancy of males in 2005.
E(10)= (19/20)10+69.1
= 19/2 + 69.1 = 78.6
-------------------------
round to the nearest tenth.
