Solving an equation with two unknowns (x and y) requires another equation with the same two variables. This is called a system of equations (also known as simultaneous equations). Please re-post with both equations.

For x
3x-5y=12
3x=5y+12
x=5y+12/3
For y
3x-5y=12
-5y= -3x+12
y= -3(-x+4)/5
