Hi,
let the number be x
according to the problem
twice the number -3= 6- number
2x-3=6-x
take the x x value one side & numbers values one side than
2x+x=-6+3
3x=9
x=9/3 (divide 9 by 3)
x=3; answer posted by Dinesh Dongre
