You can
put this solution on YOUR website!
2^(x-1) = 16^(x+2)
=> 2^(x-1) = (2^4)^(x+2)
=> 2^(x-1) = 2^(4x+8)
here base are same so, compare exponent
x -1 = 4x+8
=> -3x = 9
=> x = -3
