You can put this solution on YOUR website! The average speed is always (total distance traveled)/(time to travel that distance)
A common mistake is to take an average of 2 averages, which gives the wrong answer.
The 1st 1/3 of the trip is mi hrs

------------
(total distance traveled)/(time to travel that distance) = mi/hr
