You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let the number be, 'n'
Questions says:
4 added to the number ==> n + 4
Then trippled ==> 3(n+4) = 20 more than the number
==> +3%28n%2B4%29++=+n+%2B+20+
==> +3n+%2B+12+=+n+%2B+20+ distributed 3 over n+4
==> +3n+%2B+12+-+n++=+n+%2B+20+-+n+ subtract n from each side
==> +2n+%2B+12+=+++20+
==> +2n+%2B+12+-+12+=+++20+-+12+ subtract 12 from each side

==> +2n+=+8+
==> +2n%2F2+=+8%2F2+ divide 2 on each side

==> ++n+=+4+

so the number is +4
