Question 41382: At present Mary's age is seven times that of her daughter Amy. In ten year's time Mary's age will be three times that of Amy. What are their present ages?
Is it:
7x+10 = 3(x+10)
4x = 20
x = 5
therefore: Mary's age = 35 years old

IN 10 YEARS THEY WILL BE X+10 AND 7X+10
. In ten year's time Mary's age will be three times that of Amy. What are their present ages?
Is it:
7x+10 = 3(x+10)...............EXCELLENT!!
4x = 20
