Question 413791: 3x^2=7 Type an exact answer, (radical)as needed rationalize the denominator
and may be more than one answer

I've been working on this since Monday, if it were a simple equation, I could solve for x and get a decimal, but the radicals and rationalizing the denominator are really confusing me.
Thank you!!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
It should be a simple equation, since it's solvable in two or so steps.

Divide both sides by 3, then take the square root:

x%5E2+=+7%2F3

x+=+0+%2B-+sqrt%287%2F3%29+=+0+%2B-+sqrt%287%29%2Fsqrt%283%29 (ignore the 0, the site won't let me parse +- without something in front...)

To rationalize the denominator, multiply both top and bottom by sqrt%283%29. Hence,

.
