the focus is (h,k + p)

%28x-1%29%5E2=2%28y%2B1%29..........4p=2.....->+p=1%2F2
so,...->...the focus is (1, -1 + 1/2)............the focus is (1, -1/2)
and
the directrix is y = -1 - 1/2=-3/2.
