The clock is a circle and the length of the minute hand is the radius of this circle. Since 45 minutes is 3/4 of an hour the tip of the minute hand travels 3/4 of the way around the full circumference of the circle. Since circumference of a circle is 2pi%2Ar, the tip of the minute hand travels:
%283%2F4%29%282%2Api%2A1.3%29 centimeters
All you have to do is replace pi with a decimal (3.14159....), simplify the expression and round off your answer. I'll leave that up to you.
