Question 412209: The minute hand of a clock is 1.3 centimeters long. How far does the tip of the minute hand travel in 45 minutes? (Round the answer to two decimal places.) Answer by jsmallt9(3758) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! The clock is a circle and the length of the minute hand is the radius of this circle. Since 45 minutes is 3/4 of an hour the tip of the minute hand travels 3/4 of the way around the full circumference of the circle. Since circumference of a circle is , the tip of the minute hand travels: centimeters
All you have to do is replace with a decimal (3.14159....), simplify the expression and round off your answer. I'll leave that up to you.
